Communications
Spreading the Word
in 50 Different Languages
There is always a lot happening in Lindau – both during the Meetings and
also outside of those special times. And we want the world to know about it!
On the occasion of #LINO24, we engaged with a fantastic group of
science journalists, bloggers, and media representatives in the Inselhalle.

For communications at Lindau, the last Meeting really ends
when this annual report has made it into the hands of our
esteemed readers. As a further important follow-up, we
analyzed the media response to the 73rd Lindau Meeting.
This time, we focused on quantity and found for instance
that the Meeting was covered worldwide in 45 countries
and 250 different (online) media – beginning with the announcement of the invited Young Scientists at the end of
March, with numerous portraits of early career researchers.
Social media posts were published in 50 different languages, which we interpret to mean that the participants
felt at home in Lindau. In this context, we included the
activities of the Academic Partners in the social media
channels in our monitoring. For our media travel grant
programme, we received applications from 25 different
countries from which we were able to invite about a dozen
media representatives to Lindau.
In preparing for 2025 we updated our offer to journalists:
