In July, FrameWorks director of
research application, Marisa
Gerstein Pineau, and principal
strategist, Nico Connolly, joined
the first-ever global convening of
the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation9s
Opportunity Youth Initiative, held
in Mexico City.
In their presentation, Marisa and
Nico shared insights from new
research on shifting the narrative
around Opportunity Youth. The
conversation was rooted in two
decades of FrameWorks research
on how the public thinks about
adolescence, including commonly
held mindsets that perpetuate
unproductive narratives about
young people. They also offered
several evidence-based framing
strategies to build understanding
about who Opportunity Youth are,
what challenges they face, and
what we can do to support them.
