CHARTERING FAQ’S - CONTINUED
What is MYBA
It is The Worldwide Yachting Association. It aims to
promote standards of professionalism and ethics in
the yachting industry throughout the Mediterranean,
and worldwide. MYBA Charter Agreements contracts
are used for yacht charters to set out the exact terms.
What is APA?
Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA). The charter
price includes the cost of chartering the yacht, the
crew and the insurance, but the APA covers additional
operating expenses such as (but not limited to) fuel,
dockage, guests food and beverage, telecommunication costs, water, electricity, laundry, port fees, and
local taxes. It is usually between 20-30% of the charter
rate and is due at the time of the final charter payment.
The Captain subsequently accounts for all expenses;
if the expenditure is lower then the sum paid, then you
will be credited the difference back, but if it exceeds
it, then you will be required to pay the difference prior
to disembarking.
