Message from the
President/CEO
Dear Friends,
It’s hard to believe that fall is already here after an incredible summer at the JCC.
A summer in which we celebrated the long-awaited opening of our beautiful new
lobby, welcomed thousands of campers for another unforgettable season at our
JCC camps, and continued to make space for one another to feel safe and welcome
within our community during unsettling times.
As the leaves begin to change, I am struck by conflicting feelings of calm and of motion.
Calm from the unwavering reliability of the Jewish calendar, which begins anew each
year in the fall with the very traditional High Holidays, and the sense of forward
momentum that comes with the start of the school year, and the shift back from
“vacation mode,” which we’ve enjoyed all summer long. That momentum drives us
every day at the JCC to work hard and achieve our goals.
With every season comes tremendous excitement and opportunity, and this fall is no
exception. We’ve made real progress over the last year, growing our membership and
childcare programs, improving our internal systems, completing our strategic planning
process, and undergoing a transformational renovation at our Leventhal-Sidman
campus in Newton. We are continuing to build on that momentum this season with
dozens of new classes, events, programs, and opportunities to connect as a community
in meaningful ways.
This program guide is just a snapshot of how we aim to serve our community this fall,
in line with our mission and core values. None of which would be possible without the
leadership and dedication of our exceptional staff and Board, supported by our
amazing volunteers, donors, and members.
I’m incredibly grateful and proud that we were able to fulfill our commitment to our
community in so many deep and significant ways so far this year, with even more
exciting opportunities to do so still in front of us.
I look forward to sharing a wonderful fall season here at the JCC with you.
Sincerely,
Lily Rabinoff-Goldman
